We lost... but we kind of won?

We weren't even finalists for the comp, but the client picked our spot to run on their socials anyway.

The Young Lions Competition Australia starts with an open brief for young creative teams, culminating in three finalists competing to represent the country at the global Cannes Young Lions Competition. In the Film category for 2025, teams were given less than 5 days to concept, write, film and edit a 60-second ad.

We were tasked with convincing the judging panel that Saveful is the easiest way they can save time, money and food in the kitchen. All they need to do is add whatever is in their fridge, freezer and pantry, and the Saveful app will give them a chef created recipe.

So while we didn't really win, our spot still got to go out into the wild. We feel this outcome is a testament to how hard we worked to ensure our idea not only fit the brief, but was social first as well. This obsession with applying a social lens to every aspect of our execution might have been our downfall in the judging, but we knew that it's what made it a campaign that could exist in the real world.
